Mazarack is a typical restaurant with Venetian cuisine, specialized in polenta and fish.
It is located in the heart of Brussa, a large natural context of ValleVecchia of Caorle, where you can taste fresh fish prepared according to traditional recipes of Venetian fishermen, simple and tasty, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, surrounded by the colors of the lagoon. Located at the edge of the Brussa canal, it has several piers for docking boats coming from the sea, and a convenient slipway for small boats with parking for cars and trolleys too.
In the past it was a fishermen's house close to the small harbour of the inner channel of the lagoon that goes from Caorle to Bibione, positioned in order to defend itself from the winds of the sea and from the frost of the winter; in 1977 Mario Conte transformed it into "The Masarack", a tavern with hot dishes based on fish, the same ones proposed today by his nephews Rudi and Denis, who carry on the activity with passion and enthusiasm: sarde in saor, baccalà (salt cod), stewed cuttlefish and eel, mixed fried food, all accompanied by toasted yellow polenta and white and red wine from the nearby renowned land of Lison-Pramaggiore.
The family management makes the atmosphere friendly, cheerful, lively and easygoing, unconventional and welcoming: in the kitchen the mother Flavia coordinates all operations, while Rudi and Denis with the help of the young and efficient staff welcome and serve diners in the large summer terrace.
